Vascular surgery
At the Northway Medical Centre located in Klaipėda, experienced vascular surgeons use the most advanced and minimally invasive treatment methods for varicose veins. During an endovascular surgery, a blood vessel that has failed to perform its function properly is treated from the inside (from the Greek, the word ‘endon‘ meaning ‘inside, internal, within’). Endovenous laser therapy and radiotherapy for varicose veins help to obtain almost perfect results by sealing the treated veins for a long period of time. For this reason, more than 90 percent of varicose vein treatments at Northway in Klaipėda are performed using these methods.
Conventional surgery remains only as an alternative option. Conventional open surgery is performed on varicose veins in the case when the above-mentioned methods cannot be applied.
Medical adhesive (or ‘vein glue’) can also be used for varicose treatment. Currently, the use of medical adhesive is the newest and less traumatic treatment method of varicose veins.
It is necessary to schedule an appointment with a vascular surgeon to discuss and decide on the best option for you. Surgical treatment is planned for the time agreed between the surgeon and the patient.
The Northway Medical Centre has signed a contract with the Territorial Health Insurance Fund, so the base price of the surgery can be covered from the State Social Insurance Fund’s budget if the patient has a compulsory health insurance.
